FAMILY PORTRAITS
By Patty Hirota-Cohen
I am a third generation Japanese American woman, born in Berkeley. I have worked as a bank teller, ESL teacher, aircraft machinist, management analyst, public agency real estate developer, and yoga teacher. I am semi retired. ART 50 was my first formal art class.
My house is home to 3 generations: my 90-year old mother, my son and his wife, and me and my husband. We are of many ethnic backgrounds: Japanese (mom, June Kuge, and I), Japanese-Chinese (my son, Takeo), Lithuanian Jewish (my husband, Lewis Cohen) and African American (my daughter in law, Tyese Wortham).

Patty’s 90 year old Mom visited the show. 008
