Student Center

The Student Center is a great resource for students interested  in creating or participating in campus events, gaining leadership skills and enhancing their overall education experience through participation in extracurricular activities. These activities allow students the opportunity to learn and develop skills in leadership, inter-personal communication, advocacy, and event planning.

The Student Center is open to all students and houses the following resources: CyberCafe & Cafeteria, Associated Students of College of Alameda (ASCOA), Student Life Office, Gaming Corner, Study Cubicles, Lost & Found, Health Services, Bookstore, and facilities for campus events. The Cyber Cafe is the place to come-relax, do some homework, check your email or surf the Internet. There are 15 computer stations available for use. The cafe also offers wireless Internet technology for your convenience.

The Cafeteria is located on the second floor of the F-Building is where you can sit and enjoy your food. There are also vending machines located in different areas of the building.  The Cafeteria offers various food choices that include:

  • Salads
  • Sandwiches
  • Hot Breakfasts and Lunches
  • Coffees, Teas and Cold Drinks
  • Pastries, Desserts and Baked Goods
  • Grilled Items and Fries

Note: There is a food truck that comes in the evening between 3PM-7PM on Mondays through Thursdays.

The Associated Student’s Office where you can find many of the student senators who are the primary advocates for students of College of Alameda. They provide meaningful programs and services designed to enhance and create a spirited learning-focused campus environment. AS is also the official seat of student governance for the campus.

The Office of Student Activities can provide you with information on joining an organization or grow your skills as a student organization leader, or whether you are looking to learn more about the intersections of identity or dive deeper into your own cultural heritage. The Office of Student Activities is where you can receive more information if you are looking to join an organization or  growing your skills as a student organization leader. If you are looking to learn more about the intersections of your identity or interested in diving deeper into your own cultural heritage, this office can support you in that area as well. From financial transactions and organizational budgeting to planning events, we have staff and student ambassadors who know the resources and opportunities that are best suited to enhance your work. Come in and have a chat with the staff.

The Gaming Corner is a good option when you have free time and want to enjoy playing games. The consoles we have are the WiiU and the XBox. You can also bring any of your games from home to play here.

A place where you need to study or do some homework. It is your own personal space where you can relax and take a break before your next. Its purpose is to have an open workspace so that you may concentrate with fewer distractions.

Any items lost or found on campus should be reported and taken to the Student Activities Office, F-217. Assistance is available during regular College business hours.

College of Alameda offers on site mental health counseling at no additional cost to students. Services are paid for by the student health fee.  All mental health services are run or supervised by Evan Schloss, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Therapy is a safe, confidential, and collaborative experience to help you work through challenges.

The reflection room is dedicated for use by students, faculty and staff to carry out quiet meditation, reflection and/or prayer. Reservation are not required. The room is available for use during college business hours.

The Bookstore is on the first level where you can purchase books and school materials. The bookstore also sells snacks and drinks at your convenience. If you want to represent our school, you can find College of Alameda t-shirts, water bottles, hats, and other goodies!

We offer rooms where you can hold meetings and discussions with your group or organization. There are also equipment available for use during your meetings. The following facilities are available for use:
